Notable Awarding Winning Author and Arkansas Resident Michele R. Wright, Ph.D. was the official appointed "Coin Tosser" to start the game between the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions and Langston University Oklahoma Lions during the Delta Classic 4 Literacy 2012 college football game held at War Memorial Stadium's AT&T Field on September 1, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Fitz Hill created this event, then known as the Literacy Classic, while serving as head football coach at San Jose State University. After becoming president of Arkansas Baptist College, Dr. Hill restarted this event in Little Rock as The Delta Classic 4 Literacy, with the intent of raising awareness about literacy improvement needs in the Delta region of the South and to raise money to fund literacy programs.
