Tuskegee Native Dr. Michele Wright spent some one-on-one quality time with Tuskegee Lifelong Resident and Civil Rights Activist Amelia Boynton Robinson who helped Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. plan the Selma to Montgomery March on Bloody Sunday, which led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Boynton and King planned the Selma to Montgomery March on March 7, 1965. Some 600 protestors arrived to participate in the event, which would become known as "Bloody Sunday". On the Edmund Pettus Bridge, over the Alabama River in Selma, marchers were attacked by policemen with tear gas and billy clubs.

Seventeen protestors were sent to the hospital, including Boynton, who had been beaten unconscious. A newspaper photo of Boynton lying bloody and beaten drew national attention to the cause. Bloody Sunday prompted President Lyndon B. Johnson to sign the Voting Rights Act on August 6, 1965, with Boynton attending as the landmark event's guest of honor.

During Dr. Wright's meeting with Ms. Boynton, she asked her if she had to do Selma and relive "Bloody Sunday" all over again would she, and she replied, "ABSOLUTELY"!!! Words well spoken from a living and pioneering legacy!!!

Milton P. Crenchaw Aviation Training Academy (MPCATA) Vice President Michele Wright, Ph.D. was ecstatic to reconnect with the man at the heart of the Organization himself, Tuskegee Airmen and Arkansas native Milton P. Crenchaw, on Monday, May 4, 2015, right back where it all started back in the 1940s, Tuskegee's Moton Field. And to make matters more exciting and unprecedented, this was Crenchaw's first time visiting the Moton Field Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site and seeing the multiple displays featuring and honoring his legacy!!

Milton Pitts Crenchaw, of the original Tuskegee Airmen, was one of the first African Americans in the country and the first from Arkansas to be successfully trained by the federal government as a civilian licensed pilot. He trained hundreds of cadet pilots while at Alabama's Tuskegee Institute in the 1940s and was the catalyst for the first successful flight program at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas (1947-1953). His combined service record extends over forty years of federal service from 1941 to 1983 with the U.S. Army Air Corps and later with the U.S. Air Force. Born January 13, 1919, Crenchaw is one of the oldest surviving Tuskegee Airmen members.

Founded in 2009, the Milton Pitts Crenchaw Aviation Training Academy, based in Little Rock, Arkansas, believes that no child should have to forego their dream to become a professional in the Aviation and Aerospace industry due to a lack of financial support. As a result, MPCATA works to identify and mentor students in underserved and disadvantaged communities in order to provide access to educational opportunities related to those particular industries. Dr. Wright serves under the organization's President Terence Bolden as well as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for MPCATA.

MPCATA's greatest gift to Dr. Crenchaw is to honor his legacy by helping young people pursue Aviation careers. And one of Dr. Crenchaw's greatest gifts to Dr. Wright was helping her to fly on cloud nine and to achieve new heights following their most unforgettable time spent together at Tuskegee's Moton Field. And the rest is History and a moment to forever treasure!!!
